§ Sign-inAvokata

Connect Avokata

Connect Avokata to the assistant you already use. Every request is signed in: when you add it, your client opens the sign-in page; enter your email (a free account, no password). Menu names change between versions — the address is what matters.

Claude (Desktop and claude.ai)

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Name: Avokata, URL:

https://mcp.avokata.com/mcp

Every request is signed in: your client asks you to sign in when you add it (your email, a free account, no password), and you stay signed in across every chat. Use an assistant with OAuth sign-in; a key you already hold goes in the Authorization header. Choose “Sign in now”.

ChatGPT

On ChatGPT's paid plans (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, Edu; on Business an admin or owner adds it; not on Free), on chatgpt.com or in the desktop app (macOS, Windows): Plugins → the + button → Add custom MCP server. If you are retrying, delete the old Avokata plugin first. Name: Avokata. Connection URL:

https://mcp.avokata.com/mcp

Authentication: OAuth (not “No authentication”: a connection without OAuth can never sign in). Tick “I understand and want to continue”, then Create as a plugin, and install it if offered. A sign-in page opens in your browser (from the desktop app, your default browser, which must be signed in to chatgpt.com with the same account): enter your email, then type the six-digit code from our email on that same page (a free account, no password). If the browser asks to open the ChatGPT app, click Open ChatGPT. Then start a new chat and type @Avokata to use it.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http avokata https://mcp.avokata.com/mcp

Then run /mcp to sign in with OAuth, or add a key: --header "Authorization: Bearer avk_…".

Cursor

Add to Cursor, or in ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "avokata": {
      "url": "https://mcp.avokata.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

VS Code

Add to VS Code, or:

code --add-mcp '{"name":"avokata","type":"http","url":"https://mcp.avokata.com/mcp"}'

Codex (CLI, app and IDE extension)

codex mcp add avokata --url https://mcp.avokata.com/mcp
codex mcp login avokata

The second command signs you in with OAuth. In the Codex app: Settings → MCP servers → Add server → Streamable HTTP → the URL above → save → Restart → Authenticate. Codex is separate from ChatGPT chat: ChatGPT on the web does not read Codex settings (use the ChatGPT steps above). Or in ~/.codex/config.toml:

[mcp_servers.avokata]
url = "https://mcp.avokata.com/mcp"

For a key instead, set bearer_token_env_var = "AVOKATA_KEY" and export it.

Gemini CLI

In ~/.gemini/settings.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "avokata": {
      "httpUrl": "https://mcp.avokata.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Windsurf

In mcp_config.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "avokata": {
      "serverUrl": "https://mcp.avokata.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Any other MCP client

Streamable HTTP at

https://mcp.avokata.com/mcp

Every call except sign-in needs a free account with your email: sign in in the chat (connect) or with OAuth 2.1 (discovery at https://mcp.avokata.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource), or a header Authorization: Bearer avk_…, or — only if your client has neither — https://mcp.avokata.com/mcp?key=avk_… (treat that URL as a password).
